About the Forum
The Global Fishery Forum and Seafood Expo is a major fishery industry event in Russia that brings together key industry leaders, representatives of the government, and the general public.
The event will take place on 13–15 September 2018 at the ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre in St. Petersburg.
The Forum’s business programme includes roundtables, conferences and a plenary session that will be held on 14 September. The key theme of this year’s Forum is ‘Global Fishing Activities 2050: resources, markets, technologies’.
The Global Fishery Forum and Seafood Expo is being organized by the Federal Agency for Fishery.
The Global Fishery Forum operator is the Roscongress Foundation.
History of the Forum
The first Global Fishery Forum and Seafood Expo was held on 14–16 September 2017 at the Lenexpo Exhibition Centre.
The central event of the business programme was the plenary session ‘A Global View of Fishing in the World Ocean: Cooperation or Competition?’
The Forum and Expo featured bilateral talks between Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation and Director of the Federal Agency for Fishery Ilya Shestakov and ministers from the world’s leading fishing nations as well as the signing of several important agreements.
Information about the expo in 2018
The Global Fishery Forum and Seafood Expo will present the latest innovations and modern developments from fishery, fish-breeding, and processing organizations, shipbuilding enterprises as well as manufacturers of equipment and related materials.
The joint national booths of companies from Norway, Denmark, China, and other countries will have a special place at the event. There will be an increased number of foreign companies presenting modern equipment, technologies, and services, thereby enabling guests and Russian exhibitors to learn more about the experience of their foreign colleagues.
Major Russian fishing industry enterprises from different regions of the country will show off their unique products, new brands, and developments. The venue will offer tastings of original dishes made from king crab, deep-sea macrourus, West Pacific sardines, different kinds of shrimp, pollock fillets, and many other kinds of fish and seafood. A stylish food court will not only provide an opportunity to take a break and have a snack, but to also discuss work issues in a comfortable atmosphere.
The expo area has increased from 10,000 to 13,000 square metres. The expo will feature more than 50 countries and 300 exhibitors.
